Seeding and Sod

Seeding

If you have a brand new home that doesn't have any turf yet, or you are in an established house that has a stressed out lawn that is in need of lawn renovation, you have come to the right place. Over the past 12 years Woehler Landscaping LLC has seeded thousands and thousands of square footage of turf. Typically for average sized lawns of 2,000 sq. ft. – 10,000 sq. ft., installation of your new lawn will be completed within 1 working day.

Here at Woehler Landscaping LLC, we strive to do everything with the utmost care and professionalism. When we install a new lawn we take very careful measures to do everything necessary to insure you will have a healthy lawn for many years to come. Typically this is how the process works.

If you have an existing lawn that is burned out or browning and dead, we start by cutting the turf off with a sod cutter. Prior to the start of the job we will determine how much freshly screened topsoil you will need. We will rake and grade in a 3 inch base of soil. Depending on the area, climate, time of year and setting we will select the appropriate grass seed blend. On most occasions a liming and starter fertilizer will be applied as well. Finally the entire area will be top dressed with a compost such as mushroom manure to cover the seed and retain moisture. After the process is done specific watering instructions will be explained and given to you. You can also find the watering instructions on our website.

Sod

If you decide that you do not want to do the traditional seeding or hydro seeding methods and want instant gratification, then sodding will be done. The existing turf and base will be the same as described for seeding. Once the 3 inch base of screened topsoil is raked and graded properly, we will install the sod which will come from a local sod farmer. In most cases the sod will be cut the day before and installed on the next day. After the process is done specific watering instructions will be explained and given to you.
